How Row0 Inc handles information when you play 2048 Combo on Android, iPhone or iPad, watch its ads, buy ad-free, back up your progress, visit these pages or contact us.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

The quick version

  • You can play without creating an account or giving us your name or email.
  • 2048 Combo shows ads through AppLovin MAX. Buying ad-free removes them.
  • We use GameAnalytics, and Meta's measurement tools, to understand play and to measure which ads bring players to the game.
  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you choose through Google's consent form before personalised ads or these partners use your data, and you can change your mind any time from Settings, Privacy choices.
  • Our own server stores a pseudonymous backup of your progress and gameplay events so we can restore progress, verify purchases and improve levels.
  • On iPhone and iPad the game asks your permission before it or its partners can track you across other companies' apps and websites.
  • Google Play and the App Store process payments. We never receive your card number.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money.

Information and purposes

Game progress and settings

Your stage, lit notches, boosters, the moves of the stage you are playing, your colour palette, language, sound and haptics settings and your consent choices are stored on your device so the game can resume where you left off.

Progress backup and gameplay events

When the game can reach our server it creates a random account ID and a random secret on your device. On Android it keeps them with Google's Block Store, which Android backs up to your Google account (end-to-end encrypted) while Android Backup is on. On iPhone and iPad it keeps them, with a compressed copy of your latest progress, in the game's iCloud key-value storage, which syncs through your Apple Account while iCloud is on. Either way, reinstalling the game can restore your progress and ad-free. The game uses them to upload a cloud save of your progress and a bounded set of gameplay events: sessions starting and ending, stages started and ended (with moves used, duration, stars earned and retries), boosters used, continue offers, ads started and completed (with the ad placement and stage), and purchase steps. Events include the app and content version and the device's clock time. We use them to restore progress, keep ad-free working, measure retention and level difficulty, and find bugs. These records contain no name, email, advertising ID or precise location. They are pseudonymous, not anonymous, because the random ID links them together.

Purchases

Google Play handles checkout for the ad-free purchase. Our server receives the Google Play purchase token, product ID and an obfuscated version of your random account ID, asks Google to confirm the purchase, and records it so ad-free follows your backup. On iPhone and iPad the App Store handles checkout, and the purchase carries your random account ID; our server receives the App Store transaction ID, asks Apple to confirm the purchase and records it the same way. We store a one-way hash of the purchase reference to stop the same purchase being redeemed twice.

Advertising

Unless you buy ad-free, 2048 Combo shows ads between some stages and offers optional rewarded ads for extra moves. AppLovin MAX chooses and serves these ads, sometimes through other ad networks it works with. To do this, AppLovin and those networks may receive your device's advertising ID (on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking), IP address, device model and settings, language, app version and how you interact with the ads. Where your choice or the law requires it, ads are not personalised. AppLovin's privacy policy is at applovin.com/privacy.

Ad measurement (Meta)

We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to learn which of our own ads led people to install and play 2048 Combo. It may receive your advertising ID, IP address, device model and operating system, app install and open events, stages reached and purchase events. We do not send your name, email or gameplay save. Meta processes this under its own Privacy Policy.

GameAnalytics

GameAnalytics helps us balance stages and spot problems. It may receive a random player ID, your advertising ID where permitted, IP-derived country, device model, operating system, app version, session information, stage progression, ad and purchase events. GameAnalytics acts as our processor and uses infrastructure providers that may be in the United States and other countries.

Consent records

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform shows a consent form and stores your choices on your device in the industry-standard IAB format, where our partners read them.

Support email and these pages

If you email us we receive your address, message and anything you attach. Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect these pages and our server. These pages set no cookies and load no third-party content.

Legal bases

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for personalised advertising, ad measurement and GameAnalytics; on performing our agreement with you for gameplay, progress backup and purchases; and on our legitimate interests (or yours) for security, fraud prevention, non-personalised ads that fund the free game, and improving the game. You can withdraw consent at any time without losing access to the game.

Sharing

We share information only with the partners named above, with Google for Play purchases and consent, with Apple for App Store purchases and iCloud backup, and with hosting and database providers that run our server. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect players or the service, or in a merger or acquisition under appropriate protections. We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing advertising identifiers with ad and measurement partners may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state laws; you can opt out as described below.

Retention

  • On your device: until you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
  • Gameplay events on our server: up to 90 days.
  • Progress backup: the latest backup, while your random account exists.
  • Purchase records: kept indefinitely, so ad-free keeps working for the life of the game, refunds and duplicate redemptions can be handled, and tax and accounting obligations met. Deleting your account removes your gameplay data but not the purchase record.
  • Partners: AppLovin, Meta and GameAnalytics keep data according to their own retention policies.
  • Support email: up to 24 months after the matter closes.

Your choices and rights

  • Privacy choices: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, open Settings in the game and tap Privacy choices to review or withdraw consent.
  • Advertising ID: on Android, open Settings, Privacy, Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID. On iPhone and iPad, open Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking and turn tracking off for 2048 Combo. Partners then cannot use it to personalise ads or link measurements.
  • Ads: buying ad-free removes all ads, including rewarded ads, while keeping their rewards.
  • Access, correction and deletion: email us with "Privacy Request" in the subject. Your server data carries no name or email, so to find it, include your Google Play order number or App Store order ID if you bought ad-free and roughly when you last played.

Depending on where you live you may also object to or restrict processing, ask for a copy of your data, or opt out of targeted advertising. We may need to confirm a request relates to you. Purchase records are kept as described under Retention. You can complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

2048 Combo is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent where you live). If you believe a child has used the game and data was collected, contact us and we will delete it.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit and hashed credentials. Row0 and its partners may process information outside your country, including in Canada and the United States. Where required, we rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. No system is perfectly secure.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new date, and give additional notice or ask again for consent when a material change requires it.
